Before earning her B.S. degree in Communications from the University of North Florida, Rolanda started her career as an intern for several Emmy Award-winning shows. After graduation, she started as a marketer in radio advertising at TAMA Broadcasting.
Partnering with the local radio stations, she launched her first business, Reel Faith Productions and within the first year, was recognized as the best in the industry as a recipient of 2 Communicator Awards.
Eager to launch more businesses and ready to take a break from television, she went on to earn her Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
During that time, Rolanda found her niche in higher education. With over 15 years of industry experience, she brought her real-world experience into the classrooms at Westwood College and began teaching subjects: Principles of Management, Public Speaking, Success Strategies, College Writing II, Communications and Science, and Technology.
Shortly after, Rolanda saw the changes in the marketing industry and decided to increase her exposure to social media by managing 12 highly engaged Facebook pages with over 1 million fans.
In 2016, Rolanda returned to higher ed at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) as a marketing specialist. That same year, she lead the marketing for the first-ever National MBE Manufacturers Summit. While there, she also completed a leadership training, with the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
In less than 2 years at Georgia Tech, Rolanda was promoted to the Marketing Manager role. Her strategic approach has spearheaded the rebranding of top programs and conferences held at Georgia Tech’s Global Learning Center earning her first Marketing Award.
In 2017, she launched Outchea, an iTunes top comedy podcast, with her brother and highly recognized entertainer, Lil Duval adding credits of co-hosting and producer to her belt.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, she has demonstrated her commitment to the citizens of metro Atlanta by maintaining significant involvement and participating in community and civic activities. Her community involvement includes the President of the Center Hill Neighborhood Association and the launch of the free community event, Movies in the Park, held in Center Hill Park.
