Know Before You Go! Pop-Up Drive-In

Updated: Jul 10, 2020

The Westside Pop-Up Drive-In is in three days, (Saturday, July 11 starting at 7:00 p.m. held at Salem Bible Church 2283 Baker Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318) and your safety is of the utmost importance to us. We are committed to providing a safe environment for your viewing pleasure. Before you visit, here's the latest information on our preventative practices, moving forward.

In the tradition of drive-in movies, you will enjoy bright picture and great sound through the comfort of your own vehicle. The movie Hidden Figures will play through an FM station from your car radio, so you technically don't have to leave your car if you don’t want to.

The Food Trucks will be available from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. followed by community video previews and starting the featured movie 8:50 p.m.

Dr. Amy Baxter, a pediatric emergency doctor, and COVID expert will be available to answer any questions about medications, vaccines, treatments, spread, and prevention to the best of her ability with the most current knowledge.

While outdoor environments are almost 20 times less risky for COVID19 transmission than indoor venues, safety precautions will still be in place during the event. These rules will be enforced by volunteers, please be respectful.

Please review the five Pop-Up Drive-In guidelines below:

1) To avoid face to face crossing and congestion, chalk lines and volunteers will direct cars to the front row in a first-come, first parked situation. Every other space will be chalk-Xed between cars.

2) Before the movie, Food Trucks will be available for you by rows. After the movie starts anyone can get food, maintaining 6 food distancing, please!

3) After getting food, please go the long way round back to your car to avoid directly crossing paths with others.

4) Please wear masks when outside of your family's car area.

5) If you watch the movie outside your car, please maintain 6-foot distancing.

We look forward to a fun and safe environment for all. If you haven't registered yet, there are less than 10 spots available so be sure to register here.

Rolanda has done an amazing job of pulling together her neighbors to form CHNA, and they were directly involved in leading the efforts to bring pedestrian safety to Hollowell.

Rolanda has been a great leader and advocates on behalf of the Center Hill Neighborhood Association. I have worked with her on a few projects and always look forward to doing so because of her creativity, marketing skills, and passion for improving the community.

Working alongside Rolanda at Georgia Tech for nearly two years, I have watched her grow in her craft. She is a visionary and a catalyst in her community. She brings that same energy of wanting future growth and fostering creativity into her profession.
