The Art of Concise Presentations

Updated: May 22, 2019

There are so many ways to tell a story and PechuaKucha has earned its place as one of the most unique formats of them all. What started as PechuaKucha nights in 2003 by two architects in Tokyo as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public , has now grown into a network of events happening in over 1000 cities around the world.

PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.

PechuaKucha-Atlanta, hosted a diverse group of presenters that shared on the night’s theme, “Not from Here”. With strict guidelines, presenters are given a platform to share their work to the public. Watch the Facebook Live video as Rolanda take on the Pechua Kucha 20x20 challenge to share my first-time home buying experience in Trap.

Rolanda has done an amazing job of pulling together her neighbors to form CHNA, and they were directly involved in leading the efforts to bring pedestrian safety to Hollowell.

Rolanda has been a great leader and advocates on behalf of the Center Hill Neighborhood Association. I have worked with her on a few projects and always look forward to doing so because of her creativity, marketing skills, and passion for improving the community.

Working alongside Rolanda at Georgia Tech for nearly two years, I have watched her grow in her craft. She is a visionary and a catalyst in her community. She brings that same energy of wanting future growth and fostering creativity into her profession.
